Super Sunday!

Distance: 14.46km
Time: 1:15:36

First time in a couple of weeks I've been out for a proper LSR as I've been concentrating on my 10k running recently.

I went a different route today, and no, I didn't get lost! Was nice to see some different scenery after going on my regular 10k route the past few weeks. Unfortunately the route I took went near my house at about the 11k mark.Going through my mind was "I can go home here, have a drink and a rest". I didn't because I saw that as quitting; I'd planned a route and a distance and I was going to complete it. I did and I'm pleased I did as that is the longest I've ran in one session. Granted I had to stop at a level crossing for a couple of mins; trains are once and hour and one had to come while I was running there! Didn't help there was a hill the other side - that was tough to get up!

Today's run was also the first where I burnt off over 1000 calories in a single session; which I'd always said I'd reward myself with a KFC for. A KFC meal also being about 1000 calories. I did, but to be honest I didn't enjoy it as much as I once did. Maybe I'm in the habit of eating "decent" food now?

Just one more weekend to go until I make my 10k race debut at the Great Yorkshire Run in Sheffield; race pack is on the way and my shirt customisation is in progress. This time in two weeks it'll all be over, I'll have a medal round my neck and I'll be looking forward to the Salford City 10k, which I'll be honest has been overshadowed by Sheffield. The Rochdale run has hardly got a mention!
