Target Broken!

Distance: 5km
Time: 21:55 (pb)

When I stared to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research I set a target of £250, which I'll be honest I thought was a bit ambitious.
Well maybe not! As at today I've raised £285 which is an amazing £356.25 including gift aid (Virgin Money take a bit of this to cover their costs, no profit). This is a fantastic result given I've not even ran the first race yet. Thank you to all my sponsors it's really appreciated. I'm looking forward to completing the three races now and proving to all those people who have said "I can't believe you can run" that, yes, I can! :)

Don't forget you can still sponsor me at www.virginmoneygiving.com/DanYarwood
On to today. parkrun number 8, it was a warm overcast and dare I say windy morning. Simon decided he didn't want to be stalked by me again so I had to find a new target! Felt like I was doing a good pace even if the heat and the wind were doing their best. The Oldham parkrun course also isn't the fastest with all those hills... When I can down onto the finishing straight this huge gust of wind came right at me and I thought this isn't going to be another pb. I went for a sprint finish which really took it out of me but it was worth it. Another seventeen seconds shaved off and my first run under twenty two minutes. Made my weekend that has!

Apparently I also finished first in my age category, I'm expecting some people to ask if I was the only one running, but alas no. I love a good stat so here is one: I'm the twenty-third fastest to complete Oldham parkrun in my age category - and there are ninety-one others on there! Can't see me making number one as Martin has done it in 18:31, but maybe I can work my way up....

Distance: 5.56k
Time: 28:56

I found it's quicker to run home than wait and get the bus, so did!

Daily total:

Distance: 10:56k
Time: 50:54
