Time: 20:33 (pb)
It's been a couple of weeks since I've blogged which doesn't I've not been running more there has not been much of interest been going on. I didn't want to fill the blog up with "I went out, had a run, came home" so didn't write about it.
So I'll do a quick update:
- Last weeks parkrun wasn't the best (22:40); didn't feel up for the run, my legs were hurting I'm guessing as a knock on from the 21k the Sunday before.
- I've started to run to and from work three days a week. This is a 7.5k trip each way, which so far I'm making in about 32 mins to work and about 34-35 coming back. It's all up hill on the way home :(
I would love to have posted some photos of the chilly morning up at Alexandra Park but I can't as my fingers were so cold I was having problems working my phone! While it wasn't sub zero this morning it was cold enough for tights and a thermal base layer. Oh and my woolly hat and gloves!
For some reason this week I had it in my head that I could go for a sub 21 parkrun. I have no idea why I thought this, but I'd worked out I needed to be doing 4:12 a k to be bang on a 21 min 5k.
It was only my second k at a 4:25 that stands out. My excuse is that's the first time up the hill. But then if I can do it on the other two times there is nothing to stop me on the first! Even the Woodland Walk didn't slow me down, I felt like I bounded up the steps like a Gazelle, well perhaps not! Whatever, I'm really pleased to be so far under the 21 min mark. In just 16 runs I've gone from a 25:04 back on the 23rd June to a 20:33 today - some improvement! I guess I'll have to start looking at a sub 20 at some stage. I'd be REALLY impressed if I could manage that, we'll see.
