Setting Sun

Distance: 7.56k
Time: 34:42

A beautiful night for a run. The nights are starting to close in but at the moment I'm out at a time where the sun is just heading to the horizon. Some great views to be had looking out over Manchester, shame I didn't have a camera or my phone. Made me think of this song which is strangely missing from my ipod. I think I had it on cassingle.

So anyway on to the run. After last nights speed work I thought I need to find some hills to test myself on. Fortunately where I live I have the option of running one way towards Oldham and finding some hills or going the other way towards Manchester and finding some flatter running.

Tonight I went up Werneth hill along side Werneth Park. It was tough going after last nights session but I'm glad to see I averaged a pace of 4:35 over the whole run. I wasn't trying to sprint up the hill, more keep up the pace I was doing. I will be trying to sprint up it, but that's for another day.

I'm hoping to book a place on the Puma Stockport 10 which is a 10 mile run with a couple of hills included so if I'm going to do that I'll need to be doing more hills on my longer runs. So that's Sunday sorted then!
