Distance: 10km
Time: 50:01
I wasn't too bothered about the speed I did this run in, just wanted to get some distance under my trainers. Good job really as my Garmin decided to have a GPS wobble and add an extra 300 meters to my run at the start which threw all my pace details out!
This was the first time I've ran 10k for a couple of weeks, this week I'd been being cautious about distance after last Sundays run. My knee is letting me know it's there at the moment but shouldn't be a problem for Septembers races. Carry on with those stretches I think!
My plan is to get a couple of more 10+ plus runs in this week and build back up to where I was a couple of weeks ago.
As I've mentioned before there are just three weeks to go to the Great Yorkshire Run in Sheffield, and four to the Salford City Run which looks to be more in Trafford Park than Salford!! Really looking forward to experiencing my first big run and at the same time raising some money for a great charity.
I'm also nervous as I don't know what to expect but I'm sure it won't be a problem as both Sheffield and Salford are established races, Rochdale on the other hand is new so anything could happen! :) Either way I'm going into all three to enjoy myself, some pb's would be nice but getting round all three will do!
With such a short space of time left until the races I'm thinking there should be a bit more structure to my training but to be honest I don't want it to be too serious as I've said before I enjoy running and sometimes feel that it would loose something if I have to do hill reps, speed sessions, intervals etc, etc, etc. I'm going to stick to what works for me.
